Agra Trip
Day1 (In morning): DELHI to AGRA (203 kms. 4 hrs. 30 min. approx.)
Delhi act as the base ground for many tourist destinations in North India. It takes around 4 hours to reach Agra from Delhi. Agra is certainly an ultimate stop for an art lover or romantics. They say that the town lives in the past. But the people do not. Thus this city is of a curious mixture. It was the capital of Mughal Empire who has left symbols of their great time on earth.
No descriptions or poem would suffice to do justice to this embodiment of beauty and love. So see for yourself and be proud of India.
Day1 (From 0630 to 1245 hours): In Agra
Due to the importance of Delhi-Agra in Indian Tourism, the roads connecting these cities are well taken care of by the Government. Driving to Agra along the Indian country side is an experience in itself. We will not keep you waiting to see the Taj and our first stop will be in front of the Mahal itself. It has never ceased to keep its visitors spell bound for legends are so for a reason. It is a monument built for love.
Day1 (1300 to 1400 hours): In Agra
You have seen an immortal shrine which is also one of the world wonders. A buffet lunch which comprises of the most delectable dishes is arranged for you in one of the nicest hotels in Agra.
Day 1 (1400 to 1500 hours): In Agra
Have your lunch and then visit the Agra Fort as an extra dessert to eyes. Surrounded by beautifully kept gardens, the fort is constructed using red sand stones. It is full of mini palaces, halls for various purposes and other private rooms. It is the place where Emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his predecessor, Aurangzeb. It is said that Shah Jahan spent the last days of his life viewing the tomb of his beloved across the River Yamuna.
1500 to 1530 hours: In Agra
You cannot return from Agra without visiting a marble factory, the source of most of the architectural wonders. Marbles are sometimes carved and set with precious or semi precious stones. The craftsmanship of the natives is simply amazing and any tourist would love to get at least one souvenir of this sort from here.
1600 to 1630 hours: In Agra
All good things come to end. These are the last three and concluding hours of the trip. But hold on to seconds as a small visit to Sikandra Fort is still left. Sikandra is the resting place of Mughal Emperor Akbar, the Great which is a garden mausoleum in all its grandeur. After visiting the tomb you may head back to Delhi at around 2130 hours.
