Delhi is certainly a capital in everything ranging from multi-culture to multi-cuisines. It is dotted with a picnic spots all over. An exciting and much-anticipated trip, small or long is complete only when a few picnics are included in the schedule. Delhi is absolutely covered with picnic spots and it seems that the authorities are taking good care of the leisure of people. The efforts are indeed praiseworthy.
Delhi has lots of gardens and parks which make an ideal place to picnic. Some has lakes close by and provides boating for people who want it. There are lot such locales which are clean, picturesque and neat with lush all around. In these places, even an ordinary dish would taste wonderful. Appu Ghar, Ajmal Khan Park, Buddha Jayanti Park, Children's Park, Deer Park, Dahula Kuan Complex, Idgah etc are a few popular areas for picnic in south side of Delhi.
The other such spots include India Gate Lawns, Jahanpanah, Kalkaji District Park, Kalindi Kunj, Ladakh Buddha Vihar, Lodi Gardens, Mughal Gardens, Mehrauli, Mahavir Gardens, NDMC Lake Park, Nehru Park, Okhla Dam, Rose Gardens, Yamuna Water Front, Zoological Garden, Badhkal Lake, Suraj Kund, Sutlanpur Bird Sanctuary: Paradise for bird watchers in winter, it is 46 kilometres away from Delhi in Gurgaon district.
Government has plans to construct more such parks and places where people can hang out with their families, enjoy and relax at less expense. A plan for an amusement park is also in the air. Picnic spots are plentiful. What more can one want when there is a good place where you can have tasty food with the people you love?
